History

Since its start in 1953, débé (short for J. De Beukelaer nv) has been active within the shoe business. Where we started as producers of slippers, we quickly changed to producing insoles for shoes. It was the time Belgium was well known within the shoe maker industry for producing high quality leather shoes.

Since, débé, has grown to become one of the most respected producers of quality insoles in the world. Where most shoe and shoe component producers have left Belgium, and even Europe, the families behind débé have decided to remain loyal to their starting grounds and keep production in Deurne near Antwerp (Belgium).

This choice also showed to be a competitive strength: over the years débé has continuously invested in new and improved production processes, the use of new materials and combinations, whilst focusing on delivering high quality insoles at competitive prices.

Today, débé produces more than 15mln insoles per year and is active in 28 countries. Exporting more than 65% of our production makes us a true global player. Our product range is not only marketed under our house brand débé, even more, we have specialized in supplying private label products.

Our goal is to maintain this position and reputation and to be the company everybody thinks off when looking for insoles, shoe care and shoe accessories.
